Rainsticks
In ancient South America rainsticks were used to summon rainstorms. Our rainsticks are made from a beautifully decorated bamboo tube. Small sticks are inserted in the sound chamber in a spiral shape. Fine beads fill the chamber and when tilted at an angle the beads fall through the spirals, creating an atmospheric effect like the sound of rainfall. Rainsticks can also be tapped to make a more controlled sound, or it can be used to create percussive rhythms as a shaker.
